There are a few slightly painful things about working in the wedding industry; long hours, ridiculous craft projects (thank you Pinterest), and you may as well kiss your weekends goodbye if you’re even thinking about stepping into this career! On the flip side of this, we get to interact with couples and their families on one of the most special days of their lives, meet unique people from all across the country, and get to run around behind-the-scenes at Park City’s most luxurious venues and so much more. One of the most intriguing things about working in the wedding industry is the amazing group of creative and talented people it attracts; from designers and photographers to bakers and chefs. We had the opportunity to work with the entire gamut of creativity yesterday at Studio Elevn while on-site assisting with the styling of Salt Lake City/Park City Bride & Groom Magazine’s dessert feature. I feel so lucky to have been part of the crew that included Art Director Samantha Gardner, Editor Tessa Woolf, Foodie Photographer Barrett Doran and of course Soirée Productions Owner & lead Event Designer Kristin Spear.
At the Soirée Productions studio, we had spent the past few weeks sourcing from our favorite local vendors, Alpine Rentals and Diamond Rental, pulling a huge array of silverware, flatware, linen runners, and decorative lanterns. In Salt Lake City, countless bakers where whipping up every dessert you can imagine, from my new favorite Kouign Amann, to caramel apples, mini key lime and blueberry pies, creamy custards, truffles, cakes and assortment of macaroons. The result was a great color story played out in all four seasons- this was my first editorial photo shoot, and oh my, what an experience!
