A Spring Celebration with a Touch of Winter

Some say it can’t be done but the team at Soirée Productions did it!  Although early March in Park City can be winter especially at the beautiful Stein Eriksen Lodge where skiers are in and out, our bride asked us to incorporate the seasons of winter and spring for her wedding day.  It was a gorgeous sunny day but a cool crisp was in the air.  Coats and wraps were definitely a must.  We turned the ballroom at Stein Eriksen Lodge into a scene out of a typical Park City day.  We combined 4 ft tree branches with gorgeous bright floral blooms indicating Spring is right around the corner.  For that touch of Winter, we included hanging icicles from each branch.  The espresso crush silk linens tied it all in.  Our designers also included small leaves on the escort card indicating the trees were beginning to sprout their leaves.  The bridesmaids each wore her favorite black dress and carried gorgeous bouquets of burgundy dahlias prepared by StellaPosy, a favorite flower you’ll find blooming in the Spring.

The ceremony was held at Park City Community Church with amazing views of the mountains.  This ceremony was truly one of my favorites.  The bride recorded a song for the groom which was played during Communion.  The entire congregation participated in the lighting of the Unity Candle.  Starting the light of life in the back of the church, each guest passed the flame to his/her candle then worked it’s way up to the wedding party ending with the maid of honor and best man who then lite the bride and grooms.  Finally, the bride and groom lite the memorial candles on the altar; those were placed to honor family members who had recently passed.  The candle lighting ended with the bride and groom’s unity candle signifying the beginning of one life together.  It was a beautiful touch to this very special day.  Mitch Burt of Zuma Photo captured every moment with his amazing photography and Remember When was there to capture it live allowing them to relive this beautiful day over and over again!  A big thank you to DJ Craig Chambers of Disc Connections for keeping the momentum and fun going strong all night long!  What a great party.

It was a treat to work with our client and provide her with the look she was hoping for.   Spring is a new season where everything has sign of new life.  What better time of year to celebrate wedding nuptials…after all, your wedding day is the beginning of a new life together!

Hindu Cultural Wedding Celebration| Soirée Productions | Park City

Including family and cultural traditions in your wedding celebration is not only meaningful but it certainly makes every aspect of your wedding personal!  There are so many traditions a bride and groom can incorporate.  We always browse the internet to make sure we understand the customs and traditions too!  Many times couples raised in the United States are not familiar with their own traditions so it is important that we research and understand the meaning behind everything.  The internet is an amazing world of it’s own isn’t it?

Recently our team of Soirèe Productions Wedding Planners coordinated and designed a Hindu Wedding in the mountains.  Our couple is from New York but share a love for skiing and Park City so what better to place to tie the knot then the Stein Eriksen Lodge in Deer Valley on Valentine’s Day.  Our designers worked together with Val Rasmussen at StellaPosy to incorporate so many aspects from the bride’s culture.  In a two-hour long ceremony the bride and groom were married under a Mandap (similar to a Chuppah or Altar).  The ceremony was so beautiful and meaningful the time slipped by.  The guests danced all night to traditional Indian music provided by one of our favorite DJ’s Craig Chambers of Disc-Connection who also included modern American tunes at the brides’ request.  The decor was sensational!  Soirèe Productions’ unique linen inventory and beautiful chargers completed the table decor.  A big thank you to Diamond Rental of Salt Lake City who polished up and painted gold Chavari chairs to make them brand new for our client.  We borrowed pieces of an outdoor iron gazebo available at Diamond Rental and added our own fabric, 2×4’s and Val’s expertise and created what our Hindu Priest referred to as “the most beautiful Mandap he has ever seen.”  Finding an existing Mandap in Utah is no easy task so we built our own!  The lighting around the room provided a glow in the wedding colors and the custom GOBO with the bride and groom’s monogram was a touch that should never be overlooked.  I can’t stress enough how important lighting is to your event!  It was indeed our pleasure to put our creativity to work and bring the bride’s family traditions to Park City!  Thanks to Nick Sokoloff Photography we have beautiful images to share with you.  Our next blog post will include video footage by Remember When Films of this memorable event.

One of Soirée Productions favorite winter weddings was an intimate affair at Sundance. With just 60 people the wedding ceremony was held in the Wasatch Room lit only by candlelight. A cocktail reception and dinner followed in the Screening Room. This wedding had many beautiful and personal touches. A signature Apple Martini cocktail greeted guests at they arrived for the reception. Soirée found beautiful specialty linens and matching chair pads that worked perfectly with the silver chivari chairs. Shining silver charges glistened in the room topped with a personalized menu and brownie favors decorated as a bride and groom. The inspiration was bare winter branches with orchids and we carried that theme from the centerpieces to the cake to the dance floor. A custom gobo of bare branches illuminated the floor as guests dance into the night.  This was another wonderful event Soirée Productions was very proud to have been involved in.

Winter is an incredible time in Park City, Utah and the Deer Valley areas.  Such an appropriate place to have a wedding ceremony if you are an avid skier.  Our client planned a beautiful wedding in the mountains and the theme the entire weekend was skiing and snowboarding.  She a skier and he a snowboarder made Park City and Deer Valley the appropriate place.  Guests traveled from all over the United States to attend the wedding, some spending up to one week in the area.  The ceremony took place with great views of the beautiful mountains of Deer Valley in the Bald Mountain room of Silver Lake Lodge.  We set up for 250 guests.  The chuppah was rustic and made of aspen tree branches and beautiful white floral.  Val of StellaPosy and Soiree teamed up to bring the outdoor in.  With great lighting, lots of candlelight, and white floral the fresh snow capped mountains glistened outside.  Did I mention the bride and groom arrived to their wedding ceremony via horse and sleigh?  So appropriate for the venue.  The only other option was to ski in…I’m sure if we had suggested it, they both would have considered it.  Thanks Sarah and Michael for making us a part of this wonderful day.

Tip Tuesday: What a Weekend!

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

RZMountainTopRZKissRZTossDestination Park City !  Take a look at the gorgeous slide show Laura Negri Photography put together for our client.  The weekend was spectacular and everyone looked amazing.  The weather outside was just another gorgeous day in Park City.  The mountains were sensational.  The decor was amazing, the lighting completed the ballroom, the cake, well see for yourself.  Rachel’s dress-gorgeous.  The bridesmaids were beautiful and MOB-WOW!  We brought in trees, beautiful flowers, and the chuppah all added to the already stunning Temple Har Shalom for a meaningful ceremony.RZCeremonyChef Billy from the Levy Group at Bistro Toujours (Chateaux Caterers) provided an amazing dinner.  The cocktail party began with the unbelievable seafood station on the incredible ice display along with the tray passed hors d’oevures.  When the guests entered the ballroom with the stunningly enormous white dance floor they new this party was just getting started.  The Hora kicked off the party as Chef Billy kept bringing out each course.  It was a good thing the guests were dancing to the music provided by The Joe Muscolino Band otherwise, they would have been too full to move.  The party never stopped until 2:00 am-Yes, 2:00 a.m.!  Oh what a night…
